What is UpStarts?

UpStarts is a youth educational program that provides high school age youth with real-world experiences and challenges presented by local businesses and non-profit organizations. 

At UpStarts we believe in youth empowerment, solving hard problems, and fine execution. We intend to help entrepreneurs to thrive. We nurture youth to develop both cognitive and non-cognitive skills through experiential learning.

UpStarts Academy

Facilitator Training

UpStarts Academy aims to help educators successfully instill successful entrepreneurship and other skills in high school aged youth. Learn firsthand how to expertly facilitate the Upstarts entrepreneurship program in your own classroom, club, or program.

This course is for any educators of high school aged youth. The course is self paced and takes approximately 7-8 hours of commitment.

Free training program provided by funding from USDA and Rural Futures Insititue

Youth Centered

Youth work directly with businesses and serve as the program’s problem-solvers.

Local

UpStarts is a community based program that can be conducted in urban and rural communities worldwide.

Flexible

UpStarts can be completed in an 8-14 week period and can be run in a variety of formats such as traditional classroom, after school programs, clubs, summer intensives, and many more.
