Not having an automated system for orders and processing slowed down the business and reduced the number of overall orders that the business could handle at one time.

The current process of the business involved many manual steps, such as faxing documents, emailing clients, and filing documents in various places. The challenge for the students was figuring out how to automate this system for greater efficiency. They brainstormed, researched, and tested out various solutions, which included exploring various systems such as Salesforce, Sharepoint, Mailgun, and Outlook Macro. Building off of the Outlook Macro platform the students added code to automate the system. This allows the business to automatically file their orders in the correct place once they are received, instead of this process being done manually. This creates greater efficiency and allows the business to take on more orders.
